Greetings
I am looking at another Dan Wesson project when I return up north again.
So my basic question is.. Will a .32 caliber barrel screw into a 15-2 .357 frame? And is the outside diameter of a 6" 32 barrel the same as a 6" .357 barrel so as to use my 6" shroud ?
That should give you an idea where I plan to head ... I have bought a 32-20 cylinder and just need a 6" barrel to to have all the parts if the barrels are "Frame threaded" the same.
Thanks

Good evening
Would someone be so kind to measure the largest outside diameter of a 6" DW .357 mag barrel. I am down in Peru again and dop not have access to my stored stuff.
I have an opportinity to get a 32 barrel liner and IF it has a large enough outside diameter I have access to a lathe when I get back.
Thanks...

I have measurements of .513" (13.03mm) on the barrel, .526" (13.37mm) on the threads nearest the forcing cone .527 (13.39mm) on the threads at the muzzle. Of course I'm using a hand held caliper- not the most accurate or steady instrument.
Barrel is 1980something manufacture.
Best Regards,
Ron

Thanks for the measurments.. that is close enough. I was wondering IF a Barrel sleeve would be thick enough to make a barrel out of. Will have to do some scouting about the suppliers and see if there is a basic sleeve with an outside diameter that is a bit over that thread diameter.
THANKS everyone. Mike in Peru

Mike, I had a crazy thought which may or may not be any good for your project, but here goes. To make a conversion barrel for a 32 could you use a discarded 30 cal barrel .308 dia or a 303 barrel at .311 dia, ( a 32 is .312 dia) to turn down and make your barrel. Of course I would run somthing like this by a compent smith before proceeding but I assume most smith's probably have discarded rifle barrels laying around for almost no cost. Just a crazy thought so don't laugh too hard if I am way off track. Good luck on what sounds like a cool project.

Greetings lbruce
No actually that is the GOOD idea. And a 303 barrel may just be the ticket. Gonna do some fine measurements on the cylinder throats with pin guages and try for a barrel that has Cylinder throat groove - .001 .
The 32 barrel linners are just to small in diameter to get the threads. I was considerring that route as I have an old 1873 with a near smooth bore barrel that needs a liner job.
Thanks again everyone.. great ideas keep popping up.
