Hello
My 1st post, figured that I'd let folks learn who I am by what I post...
Do not own a DW yet, but will soon enough. Semi-retired and have plenty of time to research, and burn up powder.
One thing I have not found here is, do ALL DW revolvers (I'm looking for a 44, maybe in both blue &r SS) have the place of manufacture (2 MA & 1 CT) on the frame ?
Seems to me though that there is not an accurate way to determine age via SN from what I've read so far.
Also, I'm not sure if I want a removeable barrel yet, or maybe I'll just buy all the versions...we only live once. $ better spent than on the cable TV co. that's for sure.
Also, if a (44) revolver is Monson it MUST be a removeable barrel right ?
And that also means if a rev. is Palmer it COULD re removeable or not ?
Lastly, I'll give that guy that got that Gold Series from his Dad (who paid $400 I read here somewhere) DOUBLE what he paid for it!

Thx
Been reading (and GB) for the past few hours...
Pretty sure all DW rev's have location and Sn stamped on R side.
Have not figured out exactly what 'pork-chop' is yet.
Where exactly does the barrel nut go ? Seems to be no space for it anywhere unless it's really thin.
Also, can a frame be a 44 and a 357 ? Ie, can the wheel be changed along with a barrell ?
Have never done any gunsmithing, but my Dad was one of the best machinsists there ever was IMHO.

Surprising you didn't find this "things-a-dan-wesson-owner-should-know - what-model-do-i-have" thread, it will answer most of your questions;
