Did anyone see this beautiful specimen on GB? It looks like a murder weapon dredged from a lake...
...depends on which lake? Actually, one of my recent DW purchases was a criminals gun. Arrived in the actual PD Evidence Box with case#. It freaked out my FFL. It has been purged of all bad mojo. It's a different gun now. It has served it's lengthy sentence...(in an evidence locker). And is now a straight-shooter. All I want to say.

Seller's ad description;
This is a used Dan Wesson Model 14 chambered in .357 Magnum. This is a DA/SA revolver and has a great trigger regardless of the action used. The trigger is much lighter in DA than you'll find on similar revolvers today and when operated in SA there is ZERO creep in the trigger before it lets off. This is a very robust design and has some heft to assist with the magnum recoil making it much smoother than some of its counterparts. This particular example has Pachmayr Gripper grips and a cylinder release in front of the cylinder. It has a traditional 6 shot cylinder. #1 This is a used gun and does have scratches from use and handling over the years. #2 The finish is a bit worn but seems to be in really nice operating condition. #3 The bore is bright and clean.
Pretty sure the first part is cut-n-paste from a previous ad, or swiped from someone else's, however...
#1 Ya think?!?
#2 A BIT worn? Umm, really? And if that thing has a "really nice operating condition, I'll eat one of my socks.
#3 Not a CHANCE that bore is bright & clean!
That poor gun was probably in a house fire, then thrown in a lake for a decade to cool off. Some of the hack marks were necessary to break the barnacles free to open the cylinder.
Yes, the grips are the best deal there, no doubt. Now if the seller would lose that first digit from his asking price, he may have some movement on this ad!

The sunken ship Dan Wesson showed back up on Gun Broker at a reduced price! This paper weight is yours now for the reduced price of $699.99 starting bid or you can buy it now for only $749.99! don't delay, jump at the chance to own a piece of sunken pirate ship history! This Dan Wesson went down in 1984 and has been sitting at the bottom for over 30 years only to be discovered and brought to the surface this year! what a steal!

The sunken ship is back! a new lower price (starting bid is $349) and sporting a different grip and new Duracoat finish (whatever that is) It looks like a spray paint job! What a deal at least the price is half of what it started at!
Ask them if the new coat is Krylon, Sharpie, or Benjamin Moore?

Well, slap some paint on a rusted boat anchor and lower the price to $349 and you get a bid! I wish there was some way of warming someone about a gun but there is not that I know of. The gun looks ok since they cleaned it up and slapped the Dura-coat on it but still not worth $349. I'm not even sure it would be a good parts gun. Oh well you live and learn as a buyer I have bought a few guns I was not happy with and learned from it but nothing like this!
