Well, I finially completed my 15-2 PP and was at my favorite shooting area checking out the barrel that completed the pak, a 4" VH with some new loads I put together. Everything went great but I am finding that even tho I love the Hogue soft rubber grip for shooting, It is a bit large for CC. I have located the great post on different DW grips, (/?page_id=3/revolvers/dan-wesson-grip-types/&value=grips&type=1&include=1&search=20&ret=all and it looks like the Pachmayr Gripper would be a good selection for CC but when checking out the website DW wasn't offered. I do have the e, tradional, the a, exotic wood target, the c, walnut combat, and the b, walnut target along with 2 rubber Hogues. The e, tradional, is small enough, but it just looks cheezy in my opinion. It doe not cover enough of the frame at the top.
Here are a couple of questions that maybe you guys could shine some light on,
What is the best grip for CC?
Is it still available? I haven't got in to GB or other auction sites to the point of purchase yet, so I am still at the buying from online store stage in life. Thanks in advance!
Oh, I remember, so I will post the pak pics soon.

Palo, The best grip will be a matter of taste and we all know how opiniones vary. The Pachmayr Gripper is popular and compact, myself I like the Presentation grip. Pachmayrs are ugly but do a good job in my opinione. Unfortunately they are no longer produced and the used market is the only option. Good luck in your pursuit.

I think the type of holster you choose, may determine which grip style you'll want to use. The Gripper is a narrow-ish grip that feels good in the hand, however from the limited experience with rubber grips that I've found...clothes tend to catch on them a little & not merely slip by, as you turn your torso, raise arms, etc. Wood grips will allow clothing to slip by, with less friction than rubber.
Another thing to consider is how they may "print" through clothing. A smaller, rounded grip will print less than a larger one, of course. Cheezy looking as they may be, the little traditional grips probably conceal pretty well.
Choosing from what's availabe new today (without sanding down some for yourself), the ones on Pg 2 of that thread from Hogue may be just the ticket for CC & not be cheezy...in fact, they're kinda purty.
Here is Hogue's auction site, where you can sometimes find a good deal...

I rarely CC a revolver, when I do it's a 4VH with Grippers, which I really like a lot. The Hogues that CF put up are essentially a Gripper profile, I prefer the "grippiness" (no pun intended) of the rubber grip.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I bought 3 sets of compact rubber grips for the 15-2 some years ago from CDNN investments. They were called Danrubber grips. 5 bucks a set. There is a picture of them on one of my guns in the fixed barrel post. Don't know if they still have any but I use them for CC frequently. They are smaller than the Hogues and Pachmeyers but still comfortable to shoot. jwk

All very good info and some points to consider when comparing rubber to wood. The Hogues in the pic above are awesome but with the limited time I have spent checking them out, I can't locate either style, if someone has one of those two, could you shoot me the style number? When searching for the Hogue thread above, which I couldn't find either, I saw where Hogue doesn't have many production runs for Dans and there is a pretty hefty waiting period and price. The Danrubber search followed suite with the rest of the efforts. I guess for now I'll have to settle for cheezy. Maybe get some ham.

Just picked off a $12 BIN Gripper on ebay, total $16.95 to me. Don't really need it, but I can give it for Xmas I guess. Surprised to stumble across it.
