Well the blued HV pac came and although it is complete its not in quite as nice a shape as I hoped, the owner told me there were some scratches. We have a few guys in town that blue guns and one in particular has done some real beautys. I went to talk to him the other day and he was a bit of a crotchety old cuss. I think I'll bring him the 44 to do first and if it comes out nice I'll let him do the pac.
PS: The model 14 I bought came in too but I'll get it monday. My FFl buddy says its real nice.

Here it is with some of that blue velour stuff from the stainless pac, it had bare grey foam and was real ugly. Looks like it has been shot a lot and has some bluing wear around the front edges of the cylinder. All the shrouds are scratched like it was set up on end and they all rolled up on each other. So now what to do with this mess.

The perfect ones are very few and far between. That looks like a good set. All VH shrouds, so you gotta do a little work to them. I assume they're all matching factory marks to the frame. Hey man clean her up good get a blueing pen for now and a can of CLP. Then take her out and shoot her..

Local guy said $160 to blue it for me, his work is beautiful.
That's a no-brainer. After the bluing, assuming ll the parts match, you'll have a gorgeous PP. Let me say that while the stainless guns look great on the blue cloth, the blue guns look best on the yellow. JMO.

That is an awful good price, looking forward to hearing how it comes out, others may be interested.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
