You did great!  That's about the going price for just the gun only with the 6" barrel.  That VH8 barrel is about $200 so you got a great price on it.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations, I agree with Harly that was a great price on a really nice looking gun. Somebody definitely took care of it.

I think you did pretty well, interesting that there are two of the older style barrel wrenches with it. Based on the wrenches and the fact that I can't see a frame mounted overtravel screw (I think it's in the back of the trigger?) it looks like an earlier 15-2. Recessed chambers too?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Where would the overtravel screw be located on the frame?Im almost sure the chambers are resessed .i didnt see a screw on the back side of the trigger.there is a screw on the frame between the cylinder and hammer.the serial is 1858xx if that says anything about its age

Your 15-2 is a 1978 gun. The overtravel screw in the trigger will be a very small allen screw angling upward and forward in the very top and back of the trigger. The frame mounted one will be in the frame behind the trigger angling upward and back. The function of the overtravel screw is to stop travel rearward of the trigger right after the round fires.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
