I was dry-firing my DW 15 a couple of days ago and the trigger kept getting stuck and would occasionally not reset unless I jiggled it around a bit. Previously, this only happened when I removed the trigger stop screw and the trigger got stuck on the trigger guard. However, this time, it was not getting stuck on the trigger guard or on the screw itself. Opened up the sideplate to see what was going on. The hand spring fell out, broken. The bent end of the hand spring that goes into the ejector had broken off. I just ordered a new one from DW, and it should get here later this week.
My question is, what might I have done to cause this part to break? I dry fire the gun a lot with an empty cylinder, but I can't see how that would cause any unnecessary stress on that spring. The only thing I can think of is that I have possibly been putting too much stress on it when reassembling the pistol and trying to put that bugger back into place. Anyone got any ideas?

Sh!t happens.... Seriously--broken springs are a hit/miss item. They normally don't break, even when abused. Your's may have a had a flaw or nick somewhere. Be careful when putting it back in--don't use sharp edged pliars or anything like that. You can put a piece of string around it and pull it into place.
