hi guys , I have a problem , the crane on my pistol is broken .. well the part that the cylinder spins on is broken , is it a replacable part , or should I just weld the old one back togeather... mines a 714 ( I think) 357 stainless with fixed rear sight ... it looks like the part gets pushed through the crane arm and then the end flared over to stop it coming out , hopefully the pic comes out ...

I suppose someone who was VERY talented could weld it on straight but I would be surprised. First, call Dan Wesson parts, 607.336.1174 ext 21. Keep an eye on the auction sights, cranes pop up now and again. Someone on the forum may have a spare they're willing to sell.
Shipping to NZ is the tough part. Many folks are reluctant to do that. Let me know if you find one and need help getting it over there. As far as I'm concerned, it's just a "machined part"...

Ron

I had the same part break on my 15-2 last year. I sent the revolver in to Norwich, they repaired the crane, installed a new hand and all new springs. Great work and it shoots better than it ever did. I do not know if you can just buy the part and have it installed by a local gunsmith, I did not inquire about that. On the repair sheet that came back with the revolver, the crane leg itself didn't cost much.
Here is a link to a thread about my 15-2 - https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/reloading/broken-crane/
You could contact the people at Norwich to discuss possibly purchasing the part-

Stumpy my apologies, I just now realized you are in New Zealand which could add some wrinkles in getting parts etc.
I would still contact the Norwich factory and inquire about the part. I doubt they will ship it there but can't hurt to ask. If the crane leg itself is available perhaps someone here would assist in your acquiring it. No doubt you could find a machinist or gunsmith locally to install it.
