After a period of storage I took my poor old Dan out, who has never had quite the life it should, at least since I bought it at a show back in November of 2014 - feel free to read my prior posts for a history of my troubles.
As it is now, I can take it out of the case and run the trigger anywhere from 8 - 30 + times (it really depends) but eventually the trigger will stick at some point. You have to manually pull it forward or cock the hammer halfway and release to reset the trigger. After the first stick it will either stick on some of the other cylinders or just stick every 6 trigger pulls. *sigh*
Unfortunately, I am not at a point where I can afford the work from Norwich, which is my ultimate goal. I decided to take it down again to see if there were any glaringly obvious hack work inside and didn't notice anything, but I'm pretty green with revolvers so I may overlook something. What I did notice was the difficulty I had reassembling the trigger/handspring/transfer bar assembly. Well it appears my hand spring is broken where it should be supporting the rear of the transfer bar (where it goes through the transfer bar from the front to back and then up). Some research makes me believe others have had this problem with the older pieces.
Since the gun does seem to function properly maybe 80% of the time, what could this broken spring be doing to the overall function? Is it a possible cause for my woes?

I won't say for certain that its your problem but it sure sounds like a good candidate. As cheap as those are, why not just get a new one from EWK and install it and see if that helps your problem? That would be my first try if it were my gun. Besides, your springs are all old at this point and maybe fatigued, get the kit and replace them all while you're at it and give it a try at the range.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Good idea. Guess I was thinking wrong but I thought you had relaced the springs earlier..

I had replaced the trigger return and mainspring but didn't notice the broken hand spring until earlier. I'll order from EWK and let everyone know (oh, what joy it would bring me)
