Well guys, I finally get to show off my batch of cool old Porkchops that I have been fortunate enough to grab from "Firearmseller" Rick Punderson in Mass. We worked out a deal for two consecutive number early Pistol Pac's & three other unique 'Chops. I gave him my offer...he accepted, then raised my offer by saying he'd not charge me shipping...can't argue with that!
During the week I spent a few hours of cleaning & getting aquainted with my new family of 'Chops, then today I dressed them in their Sunday best for family photos. 😀 They were all a little shy at first...being their first time in front of a camera an all...

But soon they started getting hot being cooped up like that, so the first to come out was the twins, here's the oldest in the family, Model 12's Serial #96 & #97 shining in the afternoon sun, in all their unfired glory...

As with Dusty's super low serial number PP he recently aquired, these two have their numbers stamped on the grip tang...

Next out into the sunlight is the next in age, a Model W12 .357 Serial #4748, and who is also sporting the most perfect & flawless shine out of everybody...

While young Model D11, a .38 Special service revolver with Serial #7023, is a little lacking in the super cool shiny finish department, he evens the score with his glossy target grip (the twins do admit being a little jealous ). Being a fixed barrel gun, he's also unique from the rest of the family in that regard...

Then there's Model 14, a .38 Special service revolver Serial #10194, the youngest in teh 'Chop family. He's different from the rest due to his flush barrel nut & slim grips with a nifty checkered pattern. He's also got a bit of Barney in him...

Ok, all at once now...say CHEESE!!

The camera dude tried to get a scenic group shot here, and it seems W12 was trying to lay low in the back there. Darn kids. 😛

The pics Rick sent showed some serious neglect on the Pac lids. The plastic looked quite weathered & there is rust on the latches & handle brackets. This was the worse of the two.

When I first laid eyes on them, they looked even worse than in the pics! However, after some direct hits with my secret weapon (strong soap) & mucho elbow grease, they cleaned up amazingly well ...I'm very happy about that! #97's case on the right was the worst looking of the two originally, not so any more...

Before Rick shipped them off, he threw in two extra barrels for free...just because! Can't argue with that. So I ended up with four 2" barrels, one 4" & three 6" (including the two on the guns. The same day the guns arrived here, a local guy had an ad for a clean 4" barrel assy...what luck!
Well, that assembly turned out to be a flush nut barrel, not an exposed nut. The price...$100...hmmm, that shroud is really mint, what should I do? SNAG it, that's what!! So now I have a whole bunch-o-'Chops & a ton of barrels to go with them.
DWAS has struck BIG time!!

I almost forgot...there is also a bunch of neat old paperwork that came with this bunch. Here's what I pulled out of D11's box...

The crowning paperwork jewel was what I found in W12's box...an actual business card from the man himself! Not quite as cool as Dusty's picture of the man himself, but I'm ok with this.

Charger,
You have been real busy with DWAS. Nice play by play story telling with the pics. I like the Utah desert backgrounds too! 5- guns at once! I've been known to do multiples but you have blown that away. That is a good thing Congratulations on your fine pieces of DW history.

Charger – Incredible!! What a treasure trove!
Nice job on the negotiation, narration, pics and clean up work - those sequential two digit pacs (& all) are absolutely beautiful! You really scored an incredible haul! …plus extra barrels and shrouds…dang!
That line up was definately ready for a “day in the sun”…and that business card is REALLY a find, too! Suitable for framing, eh? That just might be the “ulitimate accessory…” How many people have one of those? A copy of that belongs on the forum someplace…banner or ?
Man, what an impressive collection! It sounds like you got a great deal as well, but it almost doesn't matter what you paid because of the uniqueness and rarity…it's regardless!! I mean, how many mint, 2 digit (sequential!!) -probably unfired- 1970 W12 Pistol Pacs are out there?
I think you have ascended to “King of the Chops”…
Thanks for the great pictures…we all just might be looking for a few more…
Ps. great subject line also…

I agree! I'm working up some scans of all the neat paperwork & I'll send it off to Jody, so he can use it someplace for the greater good of DWF.
Thanks for the comments you guys, I've gotta tell ya...it almost feels like I'm breeding Wabbits around here, with all these 'Chops! "King of Chops"...haha!! Yeah, I guess so...at least for a while. Like most of us, I considered the 'Chops to be the redheaded step child of DW's, but these last few months & especially now that I own this bunch, have definitely changed all that. These things are still funny lookin', but in a GOOD way! I love 'em!
I forgot to mention that the Model 14 has been fired, but it looks like it was maybe only 6...maybe 12 rounds, then they wiped off the outside & it was put away. It's still super clean & in fantastic shape.

NICE story there. Pistol pacs and Pork Chops, consecutive serial numbers, you've sure been busy with DWAS. That is a great looking family. I always thought those "old" Wessons were just too butt-ugly for me, but with you and the others always showing them off, I may have to start looking for one myself...they kinda grow on you.
Did you take those pics on Pork Chop Hill? Got some nice sunbursts there also.
I bet that business card would bring plenty from a collector. You done good!
