I've come across an unfired 15-2 4 barrel pistol pac. Being a novice, I have some questions. The case is lined with foam, not the golden material I've always seen. There is no belt buckle, no patch, and the combination tool is not the t handle type. The wood blank for a custom grip is there. The only thing missing (that I know) is the feeler gauge. The instructions and brochure are inside. It is a standard 15-2 rib. and has the fixed .not interchangeable sights. It still had the original grease/ lube, to the point where the revolver mechanism was sticking and the barrels were sticking to the shrouds. There is a turn ring on the cylinder, but that's it. What's it worth? I've already made an offer that was accepted...$700 Did I do the right thing? By the way, it is a .357!

Sounds like an early 15-2 pac from the description and that is a great price bordering on GTDW! What color is the case? Post some pics when you get it home.

That's what we call. Good looking pac. Wish I could fall into one like that...lol. Got a really nice plum color on the frame. Looks great, probably 75' maybe early 76'. Later in 76' started the replaceable front sight. That early should have a flat barrel wrench and key for the barrel nut and hex key attached. My opinion you got a great deal...Target grips, and I think combat grips and the blank for your own design. super deal. when you get it do the Average Joe tune-up or at least the clean-up part and you should be ready for the range..
BTW, to... and we are all a little for . When you get her in your possession we gotta have ...

That is a great deal on that one! We will need cool pics after you get it home. I am only looking at it on my phone but it looks like an early 15-2, it may have been before they used the cloth to cover the foam.

NJ handgun purchasers need to have a Firearms Purchaser I.D. Card (needs correct address, no expiration date, required fingerprinting and background check) and a separate permit to purchase a handgun (2.00 ea. good for 90 days from date of issue) You also have to pay for a criminal background check ($18.00-people normally get the max of 3 permits with 1 background check) New Jersey has one gun a month law and each one at time of transfer also goes through the same NICS check like in PA....just a way to make it more inconvenient and generate a little extra change for the coffers.
And I believe if you don't buy a gun every 3 or 5 years, you have to go through the fingerprinting again (which is about $65.00 since they sub it out).
I have too many ties right now to move, but you see why a gun person might not want to stay here in New Jersey.

I left New Jersey 44 years ago. Great place to be from. Sorry about those ties. Get out and rescue them later. Haha. But keep Christie in N.J. That is a very sweet pack. I would keep that unfired and buy another one to shoot. Unfired dans that old are as rare as hens teeth. You really stole that one. Must be a serial number close to 50,000 as it still came with a blank grip block. Those are now quite collectable. Don't carve it unless you are a wood carving artist of high repute. Glad you are here on the forum.

Welcome to DWF, that looks like a pretty early 15-2 Pack. I feel your pain on buying guns in NJ, my home state is moving ever closer to this, unfortunately.
Once you get it, let us know what we can help with. It's almost certainly a safe queen that will need a through cleaning and lube.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
