Hello,
I am from Germany.
A few days ago, my girlfriend saw a DW SS Revolver in 357 and was addicted.
Now I am thinking about making her a surprise for her birthday and buy one.
I heard that quality of DW is very high, but it was changing from time to time.
So I need your advice, to know what I have to look after and what price is adequat.
I am not experienced in Revolvers so I am very greatful for your help!
Greetings from Germany!
Chris

WOW!! Chris, that looks like a beautiful specimen from the Palmer Plant. I personally do not own a Palmer and I hear stories of woes about Palmer's and about Monson's. I believe that it is possible to get a product with 'faults' from any manufacturer. I would say if you get it and go thru cleaning and checking out the action, it will make a lovely gift for your girlfriend. DW IS the best revolver ever, imho, and should last forever if maintained. I am sure some of these guys who have Palmer guns will be chiming in soon, but I don't see how you can go wrong with this purchase if it is reasonably priced. The value of a DW maintained will never go away. Be sure to follow the average joe link https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/reloading/tuning-up-your-15-2-the-average-joe-method/ and definitely put up some fresh pics for us to slather over...

Hey Chris:
I don't think you have to worry about quality issues. It has been said that DW had QC issues early on at the Palmer plant. However, they made good on all of those mistakes as is their reputation. So, I think it's safe to say that any issues any particular gun might have had at one time, have already been resolved.
In general DW quality is very high. If you do have a problem, you can contact DW in Norwich, NY, USA for assistance and I'm sure they will do their best to help. They take care of those of us in the USA in an exemplary manner and most of our requests are for parts and/or customization.
If the price is right for you, . You won't regret it.

Interesting pac, the 715-2 is a wonderful Dan! Buy it and enjoy! I have Wesson's and Dan Wesson's I don't see any difference beside the plant where made! Not sure what prices over there would be though here if the Barrel assemblies (BA's) all match ( HV= Heavy Vented) then I think it would snag it if the price is right! Keep us posted and bring it home!

Buy that gun and ask what the price is afterward. Some of those Palmer guns have a superb fit and finish and that looks to be a fine specimen. And, since barrels don't come around very often over there it probably all matches up. Those cases are pretty rare even here in the US and you've got the extra sights, keys and an awesome looking wrench that someone made up along the way. The VH barrel configuration is pretty desirable and that pack in the US would go for $1,500+. Don't let that one get away from you....you may never see another one again. Keep us tuned in on what you decide, we're all going to be curious about it!

Chris,
The only bit of caution I would add is that parts may be hard to receive should you ever need any. However, that looks to be in good shape. Here is a good thread on checking out a revolver.

Yes, manufacturers and suppliers cannot ship gun parts. Private individuals may send small machine parts and hardware to friends and acquaintances.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
