This one is brand new to me and I hope some of you long time collectors will share what you know. Anything at all.
Since this has a bobbed hammer is it DAO?
And, I waited til the auction was over so I didn't ruffle anyone's feathers.

Just a guess but It probably associated with
Looks like they started in 2001. Might have been a special order. Just a guess.

My guess (actually WAG) is that machining off the hammer spur makes this a "sort of" DAO. Easily done with a little grinding and re-bluing. Except for deep carry, I'm a little lost on the value of something like this. As far as First Issue, anyone can hack up a gun(s) and declare a First Issue of whatever he created
Godzilla was probably also a First Issue, does not mean it ever existed.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for your discretion Rimfire! I won the bid on this gun and I am intrigued by it. Would love to find out the history. Here's another company that started in 2001 that may be connected: http://www.tacticaldefense.com/
I bet there are more possibilities out there.
It's an unusual combination with the 4 and 5 inch barrel assemblies. I have not seen another First Issue gun with more than one matching barrel assembly, not to mention a 5 inch. All the factory 5 inch barrel assemblies I have seen were on fixed barrel guns. I'm looking forward to getting it in hand.

Congratulations!
Please share more when you are able. BTW the 7360 Hunter Pack II which I traded was a first issue and came with two complete, matching BAs.
I know the pre-Norwich Field Paks came with one barrel and two shrouds and I believe the Hunter Paks were similarly equipped.
Maybe someone else can confirm the contents of the Norwich Packs. (I do know they spelled it differently.)

Bob Serva is the man to ask. Norwich First Issue guns had the serial number on the shroud too. If you did not buy a pack there were no more numbered shrouds to be obtained. You could buy any length after the original purchase but they would not be First Issue numbered to the frame. I suspect the gun was special option for competition. A small number of them in the bottom of safes that will start showing up in the next couple of decades as widows dispose of their beloved treasures at the local gunshops.
