Hi guys:

I downloaded the manual for the DW 15 .357 and spent some time with it.  The instructions on changing the front sight are a little obtuse, or more likely I am.  In a nutshell, here are my questions:

1. Do you simply unscrew the allen screw at the front of the sight and lift out the front sight, or is there another step?  Real question is can the user do this or is it a job for a Smith?

2.  To raise the shot group, is it CCW or CW on the rear sight?

3.  To move the shot group right, is it CCW or CW on the windage adjustment on the rear sight?

Thanks in advance! This is a very helpful forum! dwf-sign

Also: has anyone changed out their front sight for one of the EWK Fiber Optic sights?  That looks like fun.

After removing the allen screw, you will need to punch out the small pin at the rear end of the sight.  To raise the shot group it should be CCW (you lower the rear sight).  To move the shot group right you want to move the rear sight to the left (can't remember if CW or CCW).

Yes the front sight just lifts out once the allen screw is backed off a few turns. Unless you have an early model with a pinned sight. If there is a allen screw on the muzzle you are golden.

Always move the rear sight in the direction you want the shot group to move.  So CCW or lefty loosie should raise the shot placement.IIRC

I have not enjoyed an EWK FO masterpiece yet, but they are on my round tuit list. All that have reported have good things to say about them.

You should not have to remove the pin on a 15-2. Sometimes the front sight needs a light tap forward to free from the pin. You also need to back the set screw out a fair distance

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Confirming with LB and SteveCT - move the rear sight in the same direction you want the shot group to move.  To move the shot group up, CCW on the elevation screw to raise the sight and the shot group.  To move the shot group right, CW to move the rear sight to the right.  Why don't you post a pic. of the front sight before you punch out any pins - you should be able to tap it forward and pull it out after removing the set screw.

Front Sight:

If you have an allen screw in the front, then simpley remove that ( as others have said).

EWK FO sight... LOVE them.. I only shoot with them now. Have both red(2) and green. They are VERY well made ( not plastic) and completely durable as one would expect on a quality gun.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

I also love my EWK FO sites.  I use them on my non-scoped guns.  They really bring in all light.  I have the red and green and like them both.
