Hello all
I just acquired an older DW 357 it has a ribbed barrel and a plane front sight. There is no set screw in the front to be able to change the sight. Is this model held in place by the pin on the side of the rib? Do I just need to push the pin out an change the sight. Second will a newer sight work with this style barrel?

I think we may need a couple of pics to help you solve this. It could be just a fixed-sight shroud.

If your sight looks like this...
...then yes, you remove it by knocking the pin out the side.
I have seen newer sights installed on this earlier style shroud. While I haven't tried it myself...I'm sure whoever did it, drilled a hole for the roll pin to go through.
