That's still a good find. Is that grip wood then, or is it a plastic flavor? Funny about the feeler gauges, is that what the gap was set at? .013? lol2

It's a wood grip, also a little darker color than most of the ones I've seen.  We may have to add this grip to the history thread along with medallions.  The gap was near zero when I got the gun--but the barrel was loose...I think they just screwed it on for the pic.

Can you imagine shooting a full power 357 round with a .013 gap.... 🙂

I had one of those pressed grips, but it had a bad chip and a crack so it went to burn barrel. Will have to look at a couple others to make sure they are not pressed, but none stood out as looking like one when I got them.

Picked up the model 15 frame yesterday I bought off gunbroker.  Zebrawood grip was nice (it's now on my 715 and looks great), bluing was ok, cylinder showed that the gun hadn't been properly cleaned since its last firing, trigger was god awful. Disassembly showed tons of gunk.  Previous owner obviously didn't care about keeping this gun in good working condition.  Completely disassbembled, cleaned and replaced the trigger spring.  Trigger action is now acceptable.  6" VH barrel & shroud should be here soon then range time.

Just purchased a Dan Wesson .357 monson I haven't had a chance to shoot it but if it shoots as good as it looks I'm in business, Picked it up for $ 250 5 digit serial # so i'm assuming 1977? This is my first wheelgun so any tips? I am already in love with her and my Glock just got pushed to the side !
