I have a model 15 from the early eighties and the side plate on the left side under the cylinder is cracked toward the front end of it. It has been shot quite a few times since the crack was noticed but now I am wondering if it is safe to shoot. Has anyone seen this before? It was not dropped or anything. I would like to get it fixed as well, any suggestions? thanks, daveBroken Computer

Can you post a picture of the crack?

Could this be the point where the side plate meets up with the frame?

Yeah, do you have any pics?Laugh

If the crack is in the same position as this pic, that is merely where the front of the side plate meets the frame.

That's exactly where it is, thanks for the pic and the responses. Now, can someone tell me how I could not see it for 20 years! I've been told I'm not very observant, but I just don't see it. I'm still going to figure out how to post a pic though. thanks again. dave

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
