Yup, I did it. The grip screw and the threads in the frame are screwed up. Any suggestions besides my local gun smith?cry I am sooo ashamed of myself.

If the screw is not suck in the stud and you can get a tap, strip the gun down and run a tap through the stud to clean up the threads and get a new screw.  Someone else here will need to confirm the thread but I believe it is a 10/32.  If that doesn't work then on to plan B.  Shouldn't be too big of a deal to fix.

Yea that's the deal. But try an 8/32 tap, and if that fails I believe you can get a new seat from DW. Some are welded, some piened and some have loc-tite. I imagine the tap will fix you up.

I lucked out and was able to get the tap into the insert and retap it . Come to find out the first 2-3 threads were  bad anyway. So I was able to get it past that piont and finish the job. Works fine now but I think I will order a new insert just to have one on hand.

I tried to find a new allen head bolt at the local hardware store, and this store has everything, and they of course had them but the head was smaller. So I decided not to get it. Ask DW or EWK I presume?occasion

DW has them, Eric might, and a highly respected gripmaker that I know wink will often just use a standard slotted screw of the correct size. If you go the DW route, shipping is the same if you get a couple extras, and maybe a spring kit too.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thank you all. I tried going to the CZ USA site and it says it is closed??? Is that the DW site you meant?

If you would send me contact info for Eric it would be greatly appreciated. If he has the spring kit that would be a plusoccasion

O.K. I found the ph# for Dan Wesson parts. Duh! It's listed on this site.  If you care to give the contact info for Eric it would still be o.k. Thanks again to all.
