Ole Dog I keep planning purchases on many guns and DW's will always intrigue me
I made a call to Wolff today and spoke to Dave in tech. Wow what a wonderfully informative and straight forward honest guy to speak with. He was in agreeance with me that there is not a large noticeable difference with the Wolff Springs but we agreed that there was a difference. I told him I buggered up my trigger return spring when re-installing it and he was kind enough to offer me a replacement, I didn't expect that Thanks Dave.
I would encourage anyone getting to make a purchase on Wolff Springs for any brand of gun to first call and speak to Dave and have him help you select the correct set, he knows his stuff and comes right out and tells you the whys and hows to go with it. I informed him of the radical difference the Wolff Springs made on my S&W 625JM and he set me straight with even a better idea! Without a doubt you find a better tech representative for a company anywhere.
I think I did a pretty good job polishing the trigger contact areas and gained a smoother feel to the action. As I learn more I may go back some day and apply a bit more knowledge or find a DW trigger assembly to practice on. My hat is off to the talented gunsmiths who have studied and perfected this kind of work over the years, I would really like to continue to study what makes these and other revolvers reward us with butter smooth action that is reliable on strikes to fire, there is a balance to keep and I'm on the learn for it
I'll report back after I fire the DW again with the middle rated hammer spring in it. Meanwhile I am at this point very comfortable with complete disassembly and reassembly of my DW which makes me more comfortable and understanding of this gun and I like that.
