it should, as the difference is in the sights, use the original 'extractor wheel' (ratchets) from the one that was in the gun, it may be close enough except for the overall length (the gas seal in front and it difference from one cylinder to the other) if all "new " parts', then the ratchet and hand ( pawl) need to be refitted to your gun. A good gunsmith should be able to do this for you.

Will a cylinder from a Model 14 or 15(no dash) serve as a drop-in replacement for a 15-2? Note: I know a gunsmith should perform the actual transplant. I just wonder if the operation would be successful. Thank you for your time.
A qualified "yes!" In fact, that's exactly what I did with a 714 on my 9mm Dan Wesson revolver project. I wasn't sure what the consequences would be if I sent the gunsmith my original cylinder. So I found a blued model 15 cylinder at the Chantilly Gun Show about a year ago or so. I took out the old cylinder and crane and replaced it with the blued cylinder and crane and as demonstrated by my earlier post, the transplant was successful! Search for "9mm "in the revolver section. Now, as a caveat, YMMV. I was either lucky or Dan Wesson's manufacturing processes are precise and remain unchanged between like revolver types. Timing on the replacement cylinder/ratchet/crane was superb and functional. It also turns out that my old cylinder needs to be "reratcheted" so the replacement was timely (pardon the pun). You can investigate this issue for yourself but if you are unsure, bring the parts to a gunsmith and have them take a look at it for you. DW41F.

This is the closest you will get to an expert opinion on this, this Member trained in the original Monson factory and worked in a DW Warranty Repair facility back in the early days
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
