First time poster on this forum, but long-time collector of .41 mags (Smith & Wesson and Ruger included). Forgive me if I ask questions that have been long ago dealt with; I beg your indulgence. As a .41 mag collector/enthusiast/geek, I am curious as to the number of .41s produced by DWA. The serial number analysis provided on this site would indicate relatively few. Not much different that I have found in the S&W and Ruger arena (and the Desert Eagles for that matter). Also, while the .41s are rather few, the blued .41s are even more so.
Any scholarly insight on the numbers of each would be appreciated. Secondly, were any produced with a solid rib?

Gary- There is no practical way to know the numbers produced. Most of the earlier DW records of this type disappeared into the black hole known as "ATF". The Serial Number Registry represents only the verifiable info from members/purchasers that provided data.
Welcome to the world of Dan Wesson
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Jack - I'm getting .410 on the throats and between .408-.410 in the barrel grooves. It's tough to get an ID measurement with the caliper but I believe it is closer to .410.
