The revolver will be no different but was probably given as a prize for winning a match or presented to a match official. Back in the day IHMSA members could order DWs at a discount and have their member number as the SN. Not sure about this specific one but obviously it was tied to IHMSA.

I have a matched set of 44mags (blue and stainless) with IHMSA serial numbers only differing in the S for stainless. Mine look to be unfired or only fired a few times. From the single digit number, I'm assuming it was someone's IHMSA member number.

It is correct that IHMSA Members were able to purchase DW revolvers with the "IHMSA xxxx" serial number, and if they bought a blue and SS, they could get matching S/N's, since they were different models.
DW did a pretty fair amount of custom Serial Numbering
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
