Hi,
Just got Dan Wesson Model 745 in 45LC with 10" barrel. On barrel engraved label "First Issue", serial below 40. Excellent condition. Didn't find much about this model on internet.
What make this 745 so rare and what is the value of this revolver ?

45LC Dans are very scarce. 745s even scarcer. A few were Mae in the Monson Era. Most were made in the Palmer Era. All large frame Dans were made at Palmer though, even if marked Monson. Even less were Norwich First Issue. Dans can handle 45 colt loaded to almost 454 Casul power.
I would guess your gun would go for north of $ 2500. So few trade it would be actually be a guess.

Very nice version of a rare Dan. Norwich always brings a premium and they had a way of making certain option pistols stand out. Yours looks to have the regular brushed finish with a high polished cylinder. Nice combo, with the 10" VHBA another plus, low serial # Bonus! Easy 3K with the right exposure. Certain Dans are catching up with the Colts. Sweet pistol.
