I recently bought a 15-2 on Gunbroker that the seller had the cylinder chambered for 9mm and cut for moon clips. The cylinder is not reblued so I will keep it oiled up when not in use. It chambers 9x19,9x21,9x23, 38 super, 38 spec and 357. The seller said he is having more of them converted. I paid 950 for it but it is as new, almost.
I also have the last seven 9mm stainless cylinders that Dan Wesson had. I have a bunch of cranes and bushings to complete the cylinder assemblies. I have put the project on the back burner but ONE DAY I am going to create a few 715s with interchangable cylinder assemblies. Some of the cylinders will be used on porkchops. They will be Pintos though. The beauty of porkchops is that you don't have to remove the sideplate. The cylinder assembly slides off when you take the shroud off.
I have two Manurhin MR73 with an extra 9mm cylinder. I just won a Smith 986 in 9mm. It chambers 7 rounds. I have several S&W 547s also. Taurus and Charter Arms make 9mm Revolvers too.
Right now 357 is over a dollar a round. 9mm is down to about 35 cents. 357 Mag has been dumbed down from the old days. 9mm +P is almost as powerful. Needless to say, but I like 9mm Revolvers.

7 cylinders?? Where’d you find those?
It was mentioned on the forum that the DW factory had 9mm cylinders but there was not going to be more once they were gone. I responded promptly and went all in. They had seven left. A local gunshith had a horrible time drilling a hole for the roll pin that holds the bushing that holds the extractor rod. He said it was the hardest steel he had ever seen. I will loctite the rest of them. Good to hear that the steel is so fine though. I was surprised because they are stainless.
I will measure the bores of some barrels to try to find .355 barrels. It will be a problem with the porkchops though. Their barrels are a quarter inch shorter. I may have to use what I have.

Ole Dog, I had to do some drilling in some stainless this year for some equipment I was working on for my business. This was my first experience working with stainless. I had to drill 30- 2 inch holes in 16 ga sheet stainless and it required a diamond and carbide hole saw and a lot of lubricant to get thru it. I also drilled and threaded a number of 3/4" dia shafts and had to buy special bits to do it. I was totally shocked at how hard SS is to cut, drill and tap, even with the proper tools. It was way harder than any hardened carbon steel I've worked with.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

If a man designed it, and a man built it, then a man can fix it.
