I know, you all get this a hundred times. But, I've been wanting to make a new addition or two to my collection, and seeing that I hardly shoot this one anymore, maybe it's time for this to go to a better home.
I have a Dan Wesson Model 15 with heavy vent barrels in the 4 inch and ....wait.....here it comes....15 INCH.
Any idea what I could sell the 2 barrels and frame for, no papers or anything special?
The 15" barrel alone has gone for as much as $850 on Ebay; when they sold barrels. In good used condition it should fetch at least $400 and the going rate for a good used mod 15 with 4" barrel is $250 to $375 depending on condition and where manufactured. The Monson's seem to fetch the higher prices, all els equal. Separate as above would be the best way to sell and on one of the auction sites for the barrel, as you don't need an FFL to sell the barrel.

It's a Monson Mass. gun. I suppose as well as both barrels since I bought them all together. Blueing on the shroud seems good, I would rate at 90%. Rifling is strong and shiny, I personally only put maybe 20 rounds through the 15 inch. I can give you a link to some pics on http://www.thehighroad.org if you would like, don't know the rules on this forum too well.
I'm still a bit torn on the thought of selling it, but I think that someone might enjoy it more than I do. Quite a unique peice if I say so myself.
Wow....and to think I paid only around what the 15 inch barrel is worth.
If it were me; I'd keep it, but if you gotta sell it and it's about 90% as I said above sell the 15" separate on an auction site as they aren't made anymore and rarely come up on auction; you might get much higher than the base price. DW collectors pay premium prices to get complete sets and the 12" and 15" are the rarest of the barrels. Good luck.
