HELLO ALL TO YOU DAN WESSON REVOLVER OWNERS, I AM NEW TO OWNING A DAN WESSON 15-2, I REALLY NEED SOME ADVICE ABOUT GETTING SOME UPGRADES DONE TO MY DAN WESSON 15-2 357 MAG. I WANT TO CHANGE OUT THE FRONT SIGHT ,BUT HAVE TROUBLE FINDING OUT THE BEST WAY TO DO IT. I READ ON A DAN WESSON SERVICE REPAIR PDF, THAT ALL I HAD TO DO IS BACK OUT THE SET SCREW 1/8 INCH LOCATED AT THE FRONT OF THE BARRELL ABOVE THE BARREL NUT, THEN PUSH SIGHT FORWARD AND PULL UP ON FRONT SIGHT TO REMOVE. I DID EXACTLY THAT AND THE FRONT SIGHT DOES NOT SEEM TO MOVE AT ALL. CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE GIVE SOME INPUT ON THIS ISSUE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST!!! "BIGBANG357"

I would remove the set screw to be sure it's out of the way, then tap on the sight with a small plastic hammer, or equivalent. If that does not work, soak the sight & shroud in Kroil a few hours or over night and try again. Hopefully the prior owner did not glue it in.
I'm sure others will chime in with their methods.
Good luck, let us know how it works.

What is the method for a CBA? It looks like it has a pin that must be tapped out of the way to change the front sight. It's hard to tell if it would be removed L to R, vice versa or if it matters?
Do you mean compensated barrel assembly? Yes the front sight on that has a pin that needs removed to remove the sight. I do not have first hand experience, but I doubt left or right would matter.

you would tap it out L to R. I am in need of a replacement front sight for a 15-2 that is also pinned in. Would love to get one in red or orange instead of this ugly yellow. Does anyone know where I can get a new front sight. the ones you can buy for "replaceable" front sights are the same size/style but lack the drilled hole for the pin to go thru.
