By your pics it looks to be a model 15-2 .357 magnum, 6" vented barrel with a Hogue grip.
Dan prices can vary by area, but I will give you my opinion. If you can pick it up locally and avoid shipping costs, I would say $400 is a good price for a gun if it is in excellent condition. If it comes with the original box even better, and it should come with a tool to remove the barrel, if it is missing you will need to get one.I am sure other members will give you their opinions too.
Model 15-2 is a great one for your first Dan Wesson, CZ/Dan Wesson still carries parts, and there are several great posts here on barrel and grip removal and cleaning/tuning if you ever need it.
I say so you can shoot all summer

As said; it's not a steal, but based on current auction prices, it's consistent and not having to pay shipping and FFL fee is a definite plus. Being a Monson is also a plus as they are considered the best built until the limited number of Norwich guns were released. Norwich used modern CNC machining methods and had excellent quality control. The Palmer guns were made with the Monson machines, which were well worn by the time they took over production.
