Can anyone tell me what is the barrel thread & pitch for a Model 715 .357 Magnum? My 4" barrel's thread was damaged and I need to try and restore it - it is only the thread part that screw into the frame. Just some "explanation" - I am a Forensic Firearm Examiner and was working on a Research Project where I had to manually push a bullet by means of a hydraulic press through the barrel - the barrel was held in place by a collar shaft to secure it in the press - during the pressing process the barrel "came loose from the collar shaft and the thread got damaged. I need to restore the thread in order to test fire the revolver with the 4" inch barrel again. I contacted CZ-USA/Dan Wesson but got no response from them.

I would reccomend getting a Thread Repair File. The one I have is a square shaft that has 8 different files on it. Each file is a different thread angle and count. One of those should match the thread of a DW barrel.
I just looked on Amazon and saw them listed under "Thread Chaser File". Many auto parts stores or hardware stores should cary them also.
Good luck

Did you email Bob (revolversmith at DW)? Just curious. Bob@cz-usa.com
