I just saw a picture of a Dan Wesson PPC and though I'm not usually a revolver guy I think I'm in love. Since DW was sold /merged with CZ I've seen no news about revolvers. Does anyone know where to get one? Is it just the shroud for the PPC look/ benefit or is there more to it?
Welcome to the forum!
Since CZ has taken over Dan Wesson they are no longer producing new revolvers. They do however work on the revolvers and have all the parts you need for them.
The PPC is a pretty rare gun. I've only seen one show up on GunBroker in the last couple of years. It sold for a little less than $700 which I thought was a pretty good deal. If I'm not mistaken you could put weights on the shroud so you could tailor the balancing to your liking.
I'm sure there's others here that can give you more info on them than I can.
Hope this helps though.

Sounds good thanks for the quick answer. Can you get a extra large shroud for a regular dan wesson? Heres a link to what I'm talking about.

As far as I know, it's not available from DW any longer, so the only luck you'd have in finding one is if someone were to sell one.
Our member WDelack has one. He's got a pic of it here in his collection thread...

The PPC revolvers have a number of differences. Most obvious is the shroud of coarse, but the frame of the revolver itself has no rear sight, not machined in like the model 14 or any place for an adjustable sight, like what is found on the model 15. IIRC the PPC models could be had in either 38 special or 357 magnum, where the Action Cup version is only 38 special. The picture in the link above show the PPC to have a standard hammer. I believe they were available as double action only as well; the Action Cup are all DAO. The PPC were available in either blued or stainless steel and I have only seen the AC in stainless. I have not held a PPC model so I do not know how differently the Aristocrat sight is mounted verses the optic rail on the AC.
There was at one time a member of the Dan Wesson group over on Yahoo that has a PPC. I do not know if he still has the gun or is still an active member, though his pictures are still available to view.
