The mainspring or hammer spring is the principal determinant of trigger pull weight. If you bought the gun used, a prior owner may have put in a reduced power spring. the stock spring is a 9 pound spring. I have never heard of a higher weight spring for these revolvers. If you have the stock spring, it may have lost some of it's power and replacing it with a new spring could help you. Other wise you will have to find someone to make you a spring to fit your desires.

There is a minor chance that a prior owner or gunsmith did some filing on internal parts (not recommended) that somewhat change the trigger action. If so, you could replace those parts and maybe see a boost in trigger pull weight.

Wolff Gunsprings sells spring kits for the Dan Wesson.  I have replaced some of mine with lighter springs.  I checked and they offer a full power, 9lb, spring as well as reduced power springs.  They are not hard to replace but I would reccomend taking a picture of the inner works as soon as you take the side plate off.  They can be a little ornery going back together when you do your first trigger job. If you have never done one, I highly reccomend letting a decent gunsmith doing it.

I highly recommend NOT letting a gunsmith anywhere near your gun except for the factory. Most gunsmiths treat them like S&Ws and screw them up. You cannot file the sear or any internal parts. It will remove the hardened surface of the heat treated MIM parts. They also will cut coils off the springs. Most folks want less of a trigger pull. Wolff springs are the way to go but just use the 8lb, not the 71/2 lb spring. The Wolff trigger spring makes the action much smoother, IMHO. I know you want a stronger spring. Snake-eye has some factory springs I am sure. I do too if it what you want.

The best thing you can do is use the pinned topic in Gunsmithing titled "The Average Joe Tuneup". Step by step tutorial with pictures. The first time is a little difficult but after you do a couple it is amazingly easy. I use Flitz, rubbed on with my fingers to polish the inside and outside of a gun when I get it. Some of them are 50 years old. Wipe of with a clean soft cloth and wax with carnuba wax or Renaissance wax.

Helolo Stig.

I checked on Wolff Gunsprings site, http://www.gunsprings.com and they do ship out of the USA.  However on their site it explains who they can ship to and the requirements for the purchaser.  I added their link if you want to check out there sight.

I have used parts from them for several different brands of guns and all of them have been of excellent quality.

I wish you luck.

Wish I had seen this before now. I have a coworker who's Swedish and he's been back since then. At least I could have gotten one to the Continent before it had to be trusted to the PTT.
