Hi I am new to DW just got a 15-2 went to range 50 rnds 38, 50 rnds 357 had some issues with rotation/binding?  changed/reinstalled barrel tried again today.  w/357 get stuck on one chamber will not advance.  Removed/reinstalled barrel at 006, left that chamber empty works

OK.

Go to 38 (ran out 357) practice double action trigger pull, have inconstant pull, some cycle smooth and predictable other feel like trigger binding, and one too fast.  What do I check now.  I feel that this gun has mot been used in very long time and there is some looseness all around.  Hammer, trigger  ect.

When you set your gap dose the feeler guage have a very slight drag ?

If you are forcing a .006 gauge in there you can push the cylinder

back against the spring loaded alignment ball in the frame and thus

get a false gap reading.

Welcome to the forum, the best place for Dan Wesson diagnosis anywhere. Not sure what is going on with your pistol, but if it hasnt been used for some time it might be a candidate for a good internal cleaning. Here is the link for an excellent step-by-step tutorial.

https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/reloading/tuning-up-your-15-2-the-average-joe-method/

It could be very dirty inside, allowing things to stick and not always function as they should. Remember these pistols are 20-35 years old! If you do open it up, you may want to consider a replacement spring kit from EWK Arms at the same time.

In my limited experience I find that Dans like to be clean inside and lubed lightly to run well.

Maybe some other guys will come along with more specific advice for you.

Ok did the cleaning boy did it need it. found piles of white grease all over inside.  Put back together and it still has a double action time issuefrown. not every cycle but mabey avery other one the cam that engauges the cylinder does not rise back into position.  Only on DA, SA good and strong.  gonna order new wolf spring kit and change all springs see if thats it.

Thanks for the info.

The bolt is what comes up to lock the cylinder. Make sure you install a new bolt spring.

Be sure to check the gap on ALL 6 cylinders. Also be sure you don't have a carbon ring causing the case to stick back enough to rub. Good luck.
