Dumb question time... and this has prolly been answered before, but my Googlefu is not strong enough to pull it up...
Are there differences in barrel thread between same-caliber stainless and blued barrels? Will a blue .41 barrel and shroud thread up to a stainless .41 frame, for example?
Continuing to come up empty in my eternal search for another .41 stainless barrel set (except for the ones on eBay that cost more than I paid for the pistol...) I'm looking for alternatives. Further compounding the problem... I believe I ringed my 6" stainless barrel somehow, and now I need to come up with a replacement for that, too. 🙁

The factory probably has barrels. Maybe only stainless. Many blue guns came with stainless barrels from the factory.
I think DW only has 22lr, 357, and 44 mag barrels but I could be wrong. The OP should email Shawn at DW - shawn@cz-usa.com to confirm.

Watch out on eBay, I bought a couple supposed 41 mag barrel tubes but they ended up 44 mag. Had a hard time returning them. Seller claimed I didn't know what I was talking about. I think I know the difference. Those barrel tubes also went high in price.
If that was fairly recently... then, yes, they went for waaaay to high of price (although, obviously, the market dictated.)
Sorry to hear they were the wrong bore... 🙁

Did Eric at EWKarms ever make any 41 barrel tubes? I know he was going to do a run last year, don't know if that's happened yet or not.
Also don't know what "Ringed" means.

I have an email into Eric, again, to see if the .41 tubes ever came to fruition.
I got a reply from Shawn this morning at DW... they are out of .41 barrels, but he's going to check to see if they are slated for production in any manner. I told him of the hidden gold mine that could be theirs if they produced some .41 parts... 😉
Ringed: About a 1/3 of the way down the barrel there is a ring. It does not show up on the outside (I've rolled it across a flat surface and the barrel doesn't bulge,) but there is definitely a ring in the bore.

Good news this morning!Eric at EWK emailed me back... he is in the process of moving his shop. Once he gets everything set up and squared away, he will be working on some .41 stuffs!
Son of a...He never responded to my email from a week ago. He's probably just sick of me emailing him for updates.
Thank you for posting this. Guess we'll just have to keep waiting for the 15 inch barrels.
He indicate any sort of timeframe?

It sounds like there was a squib in the barrel and another round was fired. Maybe it didn't do much damage but it did leave a mark, a ring.
That's my guess, I don't really have any other answer for it. I bought the pistol used, it may or may not have been there prior. I shoot a lot of cast, and it builds a ring of lead up in the groove... so I'm a little more cautious about using it. I may have to just switch to plated bullets for plinking... for now.

My blued guns (.357, .22, & .44) came with blue barrels from the factory. These were all bought before DW sold SS guns. The .44 came with a vented (power-control) extra barrel that was SS.
I buy SS aftermarket barrels so I can tell them from the original factory barrels.
Some time back I bought some SS .22 barrels, 6" I think, from CZ and was a bit disappointed in the quality. Not threaded long enough to go into the frame all the way and some machining marks inside. Maybe that is why they were such a good deal.
I bought a SS .44 barrel, 4", from EKW. Looks like a work of art.

Whoa maybe that's the issue I'm having with the 2.5" SS 22lr barrel I bought from DW last month!!! Bob at DW thinks it's the threads on the frame that are tight but I told him the 6 and 8" barrels fit just fine....
