What do you do when you have a bunch of parts staring at you....;) Make yourself a one of a kind DW !!! I took my high polish 14-2, fitted a SS cylinder, slotted an old 14-2 shroud, and installed a SS barrel... The result....
Ugly day outside, so the pic isn't that good. I'll send the shroud to Hotbluer some day, so it will match the frame better. I learned a lot on this project about DW cylinders (the hard way). I ended up using the star and rod from the original blue cylinder because the SS threads were kind of messed up. I really like the looks of this one, and I have another project in the works that should look even better 🙂

Very nice, especially the slotted shroud. A rainy day project lurking in the background for me is to swap shrouds and cylinders from a 15-2 and a 715, sort of "alternate universe" pair of revolvers. Hmmmm-calendar photo?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Nice work! The 'one long slot' idea looks really cool.
And what's that grip? Not sure if I've seen one of those before on a DW.
I have no idea who made the grip or if it is a DW product. I love the grip... What really ticks me off is I passed two of these up last year on GB because I saw the screw in the side and decided there was no way they were for a DW.

Sweet ! Are the DW cylinder's pretty much interchangable or is there fitting and timing adjustment's needed ?

They require fitting and some timing adjustment. The hand is where the fitting is critical to smooth rotation. I had to take .008 of the cylinder to get it to fit in the frame.

This sucker is BAD 🙂 It may very well end up as my favorite carry gun. I have no idea how many rounds I put through it today--I just couldn't put it down. It functions flawlessly and it dead on for a fixed sight gun. I couldn't believe my eyes when my first 6 shots were all in the bull !!! I don't think the snubby barrel is ever going back on this thing. It just feels perfect with the 4" barrel and the compact grips.
