Hello,
I am about to buy a DW 15-2 Gold Series, it's in mint condition, 2 barrels including tools and orginal box, spares etc. Price is right (for Sweden). I know part of the history of the gun but would like to know if/and where I can find the production year.
The number on the gun is: B005633
Thanks in advance!
I have a Gold Series model. They came in a plastic case with a small metal plate on the top with Gold Series on it. The slotted shroud has Dans signature on one side and Gold Series on the other in between the slots. The lettering is gold filled. I have seen gold plated triggers and hammers but mine has a high blue polish. The whole gun is highly polished of the degree unmatched except by some of the commorative GUNS IMHO. The Patridge front sight has a red dot and the rear sight has a white triangle in the middle of the gape. They came with smooth zebra grips. I notice yours has a checkered one. Perhaps that was an option. Palmer gets the credit for many innovative guns including fixed Barrels, Lil Dans, PPC, etc but I suspect some of those models were in the works before the Palmer Era since mine is a Monson roll mark and the serial number that starts with 357. I suspect mine was made in 91 but most were made from 92 to 95. An article I read said most were sold in Europe and we're meant to compete with Pythons in fit and finish. They were also supposed to be factory tuned although mine, I believe unfired, does not seem to be any different from most of my other Dans. If I start to shoot it I would put Wolff Springs in. I have seen one stainless version.
