I've found that .22 pistols/revolvers can be pretty sensitive to ammunition selection. I would try a variety of brands, prices, etc. to find what works best in your gun. The one that works best in my gun may be a terrible choice for yours of exactly the same make and model. I normally have at least 8 different loads to try in any new .22
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the feed back. Went to the range last night and fired 75 rounds of Winchester 35 grain JHPs 22 lr. After I was done noticed that my left hand, used to hold right hand trigger hand, was really black with residue. Have not shot in a long time but don't remember this happening before. Any idea if it could be the ammo or a problem with the 22? Rechecked the barrel/cylinder gap and it is right at .006 using the DW gage.

Your gun is ok. That's just dirty ammo. You'll get that sometimes with the bulk 22 ammo. Some years ago I shot a lot of Winchester Wildcats and that was some dirty stuff. Shot great but dirty.

PMC and Eley Target work pretty well for me, but CCI in my S&W 22A. I agree with Steve, above- you just need to buy several and see what happens. Worse case- you have fun shooting it all. Best case- you find out what works best for yours.
