I have been offered, what appears to be, an unfired DW 22 of Monson production. It has a 6" barrel with the "short" ejector-shroud. It is a beautifully-made revolver. I don't know much about Dan Wesson other than the fact that they are extremely accurate but seem to be prone to spring/small-part breakage and timing-issues. Years ago, I had a DW-15 Monson which, when I purchased it, functioned very well in the store but when I shot it, several days later, had trigger return spring issues (trigger had to be manually, pushed back in place after firing, after each shot). The DW 22 does not have the barrel-tool and the asking price is $350. I know parts are scarce and and would hate to know that I could, potentially, be purchasing a beautifully-made paper-weight. I would really be concerned about springs/small parts issues, as mentioned earlier. Thanks in advance for your help and comments.

Welcome to the site!
As mentioned above, that is certainly a reasonable price. DW (now owned by CZ) does continue to support their guns, as do various other third pary vendors.

I agree $350 for a nice model 22 is a good price. You can purchase a nice barrel tool from EWK (a link to his website is in the right sidebar). As others have stated parts can be had from Dan Wesson Firearms in Norwich, NY (owned by CZ).
I had some issues with a NIB 732 Norwich. The guy sold it to me for $500 if I remember correctly because the trigger would not function correctly. I took it apart after I received it and removed the dust bunnies and it worked fine.
DW's are not complicated and easy to take apart.
Let us know what you decide.
Good Luck,
Jody
