Well I've aquired 2 DW 22lr revolvers (both 8",one in full lug)
now I'm in the middle of getting (just ordered 2 22mag cylinders from DW) them converted to 22mag
So the my question is do I invest in the new shroud that is marked 22mag (260 ish from DW) or just let it ride

Depends on what you want you want out of these guns. You know you have 22 lr/22 mag caliber guns, but no one else will know that unless they get within 18" of these guns.
The money you spend for a "not original .22 mag" DW shroud to put on Monson (?) guns will buy a lot of ammunition.
IMHO- let it ride, put $260 down range.
Maybe someday I'll invest in a .22 Mag cylinder for my 722
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I wouldn't buy a new shroud. Like Steve stated, the markings will be laser etched and won't match the gun. More importantly, I was wondering who is fitting the cylinders to your frames? If you're doing it, its not only going to have to be fitted for timing it will also have to be fitted proper endshake and you may have to grind down the surface of the ejector star to get the proper thickness.

Flash,
I agree with Steve and Harly on the barrel but if you do feel the need to see the 22 magnum on your gun...you could sell the Monson ones for $120-$150 on ebay or better yet to some one on the forum. this would cut your cash outlay substantially. Hope this works out safely for you...22 Mags are alot of fun,
