Hello all from Canada.

Been looking through forum for info on 22's and can't seem to find much so hope to get some opinions.

I have a chance to purchase a Monson 22 with a heavy shroud in a legal for Canada 4" barrel. Barrels less than 4.1" are a grandfathered firearm here and this one is just over the legal size to make it a restricted, which I could own.

I would like to know the quality of these. I have noticed that the hammer appears to be cast steel, am I correct? Price of these south of 49` look pretty cheep. 15-2's up here sell for $550-$1200 for blued- stainless. I've never seen one here for sale so don't have any idea on its worth but considering it's rarity here and my fondness for DW's I'll likely just bite the bullet and make it mine.

Hope to hear from you with some info. Ifly

22's are same high quality as the 15's (any DW for that matter).... 22's bring a higher price than the standard model 15, so you might want to snatch it up.

I agree w/ Shoot: buy-nowit's the same frame in a different caliber.

So can anyone tell me why the hammer looks different than a regular model 15. As I said it looks cast and my 15's don't look cast.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I have a model 22 with a 4" VH barrel. There is not difference in the quality. They are just as solid as the 15-2 and the rest of the DW line.

Shooting mine was a joy!
