Looks like you have her 'in the white' as they say, without bluing.
I have heard of folks having the cylinders on model 8's and 9's reamed to accept the 357 round also. IMO that is a waste of a rare model. Yours looks nice like that if you can keep the rust from forming.
BTW Welcome to the forum!

I cant tell the serial has been tampered in that pic. Looks good from what I can see. Mod 8-2. Looks good man.

I don't think the number has been tampered with, it just looks like some of the digits aren't impressed as deeply. I have a few guns where the roll marks vary a bit. So you can drop a 357mag cartridge into it and close the cylinder? Or do you mean you use .357 (38cal) bullets?
Can't tell from the pic but it looks like the bluing has been removed. If so, how do you keep it from rusting in the Philippines?
A very nice piece, especially with the '38 B' prefix in the serial number, leaves no doubt as to the model.

You will want to keep it oiled good.
If the gun is a .38 and the cylinder has not been reamed or replaced, the .357 case will not chamber. As mentioned above the 38 and 357 barrel shrouds will interchange. And you can fire a .38 cartridge from a .357 chamber but not the other way.
from the pics your gun is a .38 cal. IMO, that serial# looks legit. Very nice. In your climate keep her clean and lightly oiled. Should be fine and also , the nickel could be factory.

On second thought, there is a B in the serial which probably indicated Blue. Either way it looks like a very nice gun. Even if plated in nickel at a later time.
