Hello, I am new here and new to the DW revolvers. I picked up a model 41V in 41 mag, it came with a 4 & 6in barrel. I can find next to nothing about this gun on the net, so any and all info you have I would be very grateful. It is in Ex plus condition with logo wooden smooth grips. I do not have the tool to change out the barrel, can I use the 44mag tool for this. I know I got a good deal, but have no idea of the value of this firearm.
I also got a 357mag, can't remember the model. It came with a 2in,(2) 4in barrels, and a 6in. barrel. It is in the same condition as the 41V. Thanks for your help.

Your in the right place for info...there are a couple of member on the forum who claim the 41 is their favorite caliber. They'll be along later to help you out. It's a fine caliber for making the silhouette ring or putting meat on the table.
When mine arrived at the local gun shop I asked if they had any ammo on hand as I was anxious to try it out. This shop is run by wonderful folks who sell lots and lots of "tupperware" guns and rifles that look like they were made from Erector sets (if you are old enough to remember them)! The owner answered my question this way, "Naah, you probably got the only one in town."

Welcome and no, the 44 mag tool will not fit the bore of a 41 mag. A 357 Maximum will work but it is not good to be loose. EWK sells the large frame tools with inserts for the different calibers. Dan Wesson may have a tool to sell or not.. They show up very infrequently on eBay. Since you will probably want several Dans of every caliber, it is best to at least have a large and a small EWK tool. 445 and 44mag use the same insert . Ditto 41 and 414.
41 mag does not have many choices of loads available. Best to order on line or load your own. Underwood has great stuff, more potent then most. I have eschewed 41 mag since I have several 44 mags and didn't want to stock another caliber ammo. I may reprise that decision. I think 41 may be more fun to shoot.
Lastly, 41 mag sells for a premium over the more common 44 mag. Look on Gunbroker completed sales for a value guide. Zebra wood grips if you have them add up to 200 to the value.

Welcome to the forum from PA! I' one of those guys who loves the 41 mag.
First off, go to the right sidebar and go to EWKArms and order a large frame barrel wrench with a .41 pilot. The 44 tool won't fit in the barrel as the pilot on the end is too large.
Ammo is not common around me so I load for the 41. Starline makes brass and .41 bullets are widely available on the net from places like Berrys, and Extreme.
The 41 is flatter shooting than the 44 with better ballistics. It hits with very nearly the same energy as the 44.
Ammo may be available on the net as well if you don't reload.
I find my guns like loads that favor the hot or fast end of their range.
Any other questions, just ask.

Hello,
Is your 41 Mag Blued or Stainless? Pics would be great. Your .357 could possibly be a model 15-2.
Others have already suggested a barrel changing tool from EWK arms.
I have no idea on Value of the gun. One way to find out would be to put it up for sale on Gun Broker and see what it fetches. I do know that there is a 741 for sale right now with 10" and 4 " barrels starting bid is $1500.00 not sure if it is getting any bids at that starting price. I know that my 741 would be the last revolver of my collection that I would sell. I will forever be on the look out for a 414 Super Mag, but they almost never come around and when they do, I am not really in the running with $ they can bring.
41 Mag is my favorite revolver caliber and I reload both range rounds and hunting rounds. I have not bought factory ammo for the 41 Mag. It is available but not as much as 357 o 44 mag.
Glad you got a deal and some fine DW revolvers. Ask questions and post away. Friendly folks on this forum educated me about my DWs and they will certainly act as enablers to your DA revolver addiction.

Welcome.
When I got my 741, I cleaned it and took it to the range. Had some HSM Bear Ammo .41 REM. mag 230GR. SWC. First six rounds at 20 yards were a 3" pattern. Yep, shoots nice and flat. I now reload my own.

Fixed it.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
