Recently I have been on a roll on getting some decent DW revolvers. Bought an 40, (2) 22, 722 pistol pack, 15-2 pistol pack. I was at an local shop and was looking to see what they had. Was wanting an Glock 35. As I was looking I seen an 715-8vh. It looked decent but there was an scratch about 1 inch long on the frame and the shroud had some marks on it. I seen the price, he was asking $825. I was surprised a little cause this was the same place I bought the pistol pack for just $25 dollars more. I was talking to the wife about it and she agreed the price was to much. He was really asking for a price from me, I was wanting the wife to do it since she is more firm on pricing then I would be . We she told them $450 that is all she would be willing to spend. She gotten him down to $675. But that is as low as they gotten. So we walked out empty handed. What is a 715 worth with an 8" VH shroud? We was talking and was thinking if we passed up on a good deal or they was over priced. Any help would be greatful.

Well, we have all had one that "got away". Mine was a CBOB that I looked at on and off for several weeks (and several years ago) for $799. When I was finally ready, turned out that someone else had "my" CBOB.
I learned my lesson from that, I saw a 722 not long after that. As I was driving home I realized I was being stupid, went back and put it on Lay Away until I figured how to buy the sucker.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Seems prices are all over the place is it fixed barrel or changeable? Any extras wrench, box, grips and such? If the scratch isn't to deep it can be fixed! Price to pay is what you feel it is worth! Check GB for what some are going for not the buy now but the auctions! Good luck and grab it fast!

It has the box, instruction manual and wrench. It is changeable barrels. For me I would like to pay 550. I have to convenience my wife it is worth that. I know if she read if from people who is more knowledgeable on their value she would be more comfortable paying more then what she offered.

I know we are all a bunch of enablers here, but...
Take a look on Gunbroker. You will get an idea of value, and can probably use it to help talk yourself into getting another Dan. (or talk someone else into letting you get it)
For example there's a 715 Monson with an 8 inch barrel assembly right now is going for $900 on GB with out a box, papers, or any extra barrel assemblies.

Of course we all come up with a bunch of excuses for justifying a purchase. That's always easier than saying "Darn I wish I hadn't let that one get away."
I can't help thinking that they won't be getting any cheaper in the not so distant future.
Either way best of luck.

I think $675 is toward the high side but not way overpriced since it has box etc with it. All depends how bad the scratch is and if you can polish it out. And also how bad you want it, you may look a long time to find another local 715, just to save a few bucks.

A gun you can look at and check out before buying is worth a premium. As is the rapor with your favorite gun store that has to put up with you all the times you are just looking. Now, MHO. That seems a decent price for a Monson gun, especially if you can polish out the marks. Having the wrench is worth $30-40.
If it is a new release then the price is very good.
Kenneth, If you haunt Gunbroker you will get a good feel for prices but your already serious case of DWAS may become acute to the point of needing intervention or a mortgage refinancing. Go back and get the gun.
