I had the opportunity today to finally get a 744 to the range and have some time with it. It is a revolver that I have messed with awhile to get the sights dialed in to the 25-yard and 50-yard range distances. I had to go to a much taller Patridge style front sight to do this. Awhile back I acquired a bulk box of Hornady 275 grain XTP bullets and have been working on loads for them. I think we have a winner. It was a balmy 24 degrees today and the target shown was at 25-yards with the butt only of the revolver rested on bags. I also shot it the same at 50 yards and the group only opened up about an inch, but slightly lower. Ignore the smaller .22 holes, I re-use league targets all the time to save target cost.

Good shootin' SMF. Looks like you got her tuned pretty darn good.. Little bit chilly out there tho...

Thanks ESE927, I actually thought today's weather was perfect. My favorite weather is 20-30 degrees in January-February. Everyone else stays home and watches TV and the range is abandoned

Yeah Phil, those southern guys just don't understand ideal weather.
No offense, Cecil.

Nice shooting SMF. I like the cold, calm days too, nobody around and you can take your time. That's a nice looking range, where do you shoot?

None taken Mike....I don't know if I ever said it but Dawn is from Chi-town originally. She still hates the cold but runs around barefoot..go figure. Her uncle told her once she did good by coming to KY cause nobody wears shoes down here..lolol... I usually don't have much issue with the cold and in shorts and tees unless really drops. I used to ride my bike in the cold and people though I was nuts... nowadays, tho, I let myself get old since I tore my foot up and I started taking BP meds...I do tend to get colder faster and take longer to warm up...hehe.
I am lucky in one way though. I just take a 6 mile ride to my families place and the range is always wide open...
