Hello
A buddy's 44 (Monson) is a little hard to get the cyl to open. The latch/rectangular-piece doesn't seem to move down enough, away from top. It's not the cyl gap, nothing else is stopping it. The top of the angled part of the sliding latch just needs to move down another .020" or so.
Is there an ez way to make it move more ?
What keeps it from moving downwards more than it does ? Compressed spring ? Hard stop internally ?
How does that piece come apart ? Is that an allen screw on the front face or a (rolled) pin ?
I'm also reading other posts to see if I can find previous answers...
TIA

Not sure what superdans response was, but there is likely possibly a buildup of powder residue, gummed up lubricant... under the cylinder latch. disassemble and clean?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
