That's what it's stamped...MOD 15-B with a 22XXX serial number...no serials or model #'s stamped on the exterior of the piece...it's stamped on the interior in front of the cylinder on the exterior in the standard places it's stamped Dan Wesson arms, Monson,Mass., Made in USA. Anyone know anything about this model? any info would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds similar to the roll marks on this one...
I have no idea why it would be stamped with a "B". The early model 14's & 15's had the model roll marked on the outside of the frame, with the s/n stamped under the crane. Later on, they moved the s/n to the outside of the frame & removed the model number altogether, so I suspect yours was done this way as they were trying to figure out what to do during the transition.
And yes, would be appreciated!

Other than a couple scratches, on the shroud, your gun appears to be in beautiful condition! I'll warn you to not rub the grip medallions too much when handling it...they are made of a yellow plastic with a silver coating & that coating rubs off fairly easily.
Regarding the rarity, model 15's were only made for approximately 1-2 years, so they are much more rare than a 15-2 for example. The manner of stamping the s/n & model number as yours is, and I can only speculate at this point, but I suspect they may have only done this for maybe a month or two. I haven't seen many examples like yours out there.
Another possibility regarding the "B" is that they may have done this to track the changes in roll mark styles as they transitioned from one style to the next. For example, the earlier style like this could be "A" (even though they didn't mark it as "A").
Then your type with "Model 15" removed could be "B".
The final type with the s/m roll marked on the outside could be "C" (although I have yet to see one marked as "C"). Also, if you look at the 27484 s/n on this gun, this roll mark type came along not long after yours. The lowest number I have in my records in this type is 26702, but I imagine there are lower numbers out there.
Again, this whole A-B-C thing is only unsubstantiated speculation on my part, so please don't take it as fact. It's merely a working theory for now.

Probably 1972. Maybe into 1973, but most likely '72.
As far as value, watching the final prices on auction sites is a good way to judge value. Porkchops tend to sell at a lower price than the more aesthetically pleasing 15-2's, but not always. Myself, I would think that $325 to $400 for one in your condition would be about right, especially if you have the box, tools & papers. However, value is ultimately set by the buyer, not the seller. If a collector needs one like yours to fill a hole for example, it could easily sell for much more, it all depends on who is looking that week.
