I was not satisfied with the tiny OEM 4-40 set screw used to control trigger overtravel in my early model 15s. As is normally seen, it was cutting into the frame from double-action impacts. Aside from that, adjustment required a tiny .050" hex key. So, I countersunk the overtravel screw hole in the trigger slightly and threaded in a flathead 4-40 socket head screw that has an 0.060" hex. It now has considerably more area to contact the frame and does not cut a divot into the frame as the OEM screw did. It should require much less adjustment. Conveniently, it is adjusted almost perfectly with the head bottomed against the trigger. Some cutting and trying will be necessary. The last two pics are of the tiny OEM screw and the divot it peens in the frame. That problem has been solved.

Interesting. I'd never want to do that to one of mine but am curious how does it feel when shooting?

If one has the eyes and finger dexterity, they could modify the screw instead of the trigger. It would amount to grinding a small radius around the underhead bevel of the screw and perhaps shaving the flat if it stood too proud once set in place.

As I see it, triggers are cheap and available. This is on an unfired Monson example (1763XX) that has been a safe queen. I also polished the trigger face, and very judiciously stoned the full cock notch, used Dremel w/Cratex and then crocus cloth polished all internal contact surfaces, and have an EWK Patridge sight blade and four slot barrel nut. I located an NOS late style checkered hammer as well. Polishing the trigger return spring slot and using crocus cloth to polish the spring contact points resulted in a noticeably smoother D/A trigger action. Less noticeable when cylinder drag is added in, but an improvement nevertheless.

As to the overstop, the wide contact surface of the screw uses almost all of the available flat on the frame. It seems to provide a slightly more solid stop at hammer release and it no longer raises a burr in the frame. That is enough for me.
