Hi All, I just stumbled across this site looking for info on a DW revolver I've had since my silhouette shooting days. It's a 10" silhouette single action Monson,Mass. SS gun, with the ram outline on the shroud.I'm curious as to how many were made? The serial # is ETG22S0055,so I know at least that many were made and I'm sure a few more.Any info that anyone has would be appreciated.Thanks,Mike.

to the , Mike.
We sure would like to see some of that 22.
Serial numbers are an issue since BATF took all of the records and isn't talking. We're trying to build an SN database based on purchase receipts from members who are the original purchasers. However, finding the highest SN of a particular may well be impossible.
Again, welcome.

I have one that shoots amazing (it really fell in love with Wolf target), mine is serial # ETG22S0043, so I'm not much help in figuring out how many were made other than they went below 50 there is a guy on the forum who has another Monson (mine is Monson as well) and his serial # is in the 120's (it popped up on the pic header when I was going into this thread). I know he bought his new so he may be able to help with narrowing down when yours was made.

Thank you for the warm welcome and info! I quit shooting IHMSA about 10yrs ago and gravitated into BPCR due to eyesight problems.I kept all my silhouette pistols, but just couldn't bring myself to stick a scope on them to stay competitive. The DW 22 shot really well with Federal Rifle Match and I managed to win my class at regionals one year with it.I've thought about trying some Eley or Lapua just to see what it's capable of.I remember when I got started in IHMSA back in the early eighties,me and a shooting buddy were buying Remington Thunderbolts by the brick for $6.00! I shot a fair amount of 38's and 39's with that stuff until it finally dawned on us the ammo might be the limiting factor! My camera is on the fritz at the moment,so maybe I can post some pictures at a later date.I've got a 445 Super Mag 10" that I'll include as well if anyone is interested. Thanks again,Mike. PS--I bought both of these guns new through The Silhouette,I found the reciept for the 445.Purchased in 1988 for 355.00.Those were the days!

aboard!
I've got one of those Silhouette 722's on my short list…I know mine's out there somewhere, just gotta find it.
Since you have your original receipt on the SuperMag, if you wouldn't mind contributing to the registry, it would sure be appreciated. Link here; https://www.danwessonforum.com/?page_id=42
Each entry we have, helps to get us that much closer to nailing down this serial number thing.
