I think by now most people can see I am legitimate and would be comfortable paying then waiting.
I'd say that prepay with a specific delivery window would be a win-win.
I would never have a prepay concern with Eric, he's the Real Deal.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'd sign up for a 3" or possibly a 2.5" prepayment or a deposit would not be a problem.

What type of timeline do you typically work on? I see the vast majority of barrels you have on the website are currently sold out, but I don't frequent it enough to know how often things come back in stock.
As soon as I see the option to be notified of product arrival, I will sign up!
As I mentioned, my first choice would be a 3". If that were not available I would have to think hard about a 2.5" or 4". I prefer a 4" barrel for handling, but have a 6" right now.
Thanks for the reply!

Actually, you have a good problem Eric. The hardest part of any business is marketing. That is why advertising is such a big business. How about advance notice of particular barrels and a sign up and prepay period. You would be sure of quantity and we would know when delivery would be. Buyers would have a little time to save a paycheck, convince the wife or sell that extra gun on gunbroker. You could then know your future employee needs also. I am starting a consulting business. If you take my advice it's free. If you don't you pay double. I will make a bundle. Old Dog nobody listens to. The one under the kitchen table always getting kicked. Lol.

Hello Eric,
I have been wanting one of the new scope mount shrouds and have seen that they are sold out on EWK. I did find that you have some listed on Ebay now. Is this going to be your future market path ? I also saw a " factory second" for sale. IMHO...you have established a wonderful reputation for producing high quality aftermarket components, selling less than perfect items even at reduced prices could be detrimental to your continued success in the long term. I know of a well respected custom arrow shop go out of business after they began selling seconds. Once the "defects" start floating around in the market ,the question of whether an item is defect free or a factory second needs to be asked.
Also, on other websites, sold out notify me when available, means " we have no idea when we will get some" Suggest a small inventory on hand if possible and orders on out of stock prepaid.
Thanks for offering reasonably priced, innovative products for my well loved Dan Wessons !!!

That is an excellent point on the seconds turning into a problem-if its any indication of people buying from me to resell on ebay, I wouldn't be surprised if someone would buy them cheap, and then resell them as a "perfect" one. So decided to pull the plug on the auction of the one 8" second on ebay.
Its not as part of the plans to market them on ebay now-with the fees they charge, ugh! Its more of an experiment to see how mine stack up to the originals that are being sold on ebay.
Right on, it will be much tougher taking orders on more of a custom to order deal, rather than making them in batches, but the downside is if people won't buy what you have made you have all that money tied up in what's not selling.
Like they say, if its easy, everyone would be doing it.

Press on regardless.

I am all for the prepay idea. I would order a 2.5" and 3" blued VH. I have been waiting for some time for Eric to run a batch. I have purchased other products from Eric and had him do some work on a shroud and as stated he does excellent work and his products are top notch. I would rather wait for Eric to run a batch than purchase elsewhere.

Eric,
If you have some blems that you want to move and not eat, I'd suggest marking them as blems. I.e. DW marks their 1911 blems with an upside down Y after the SN. You could do something similar after the caliber. Just make a note on you site regarding the mark.

I like the prepay concept, you get what you pay for in a a reasonable period of time. I've done it with the DW factory and would not hesitate to place a prepay order with Eric.

That's a good idea!
I also think the prepay idea is a good one. Maybe announce that you're tooling up for a batch of "x" with a prepay window of 2-3 weeks, to help gauge how many to make during that run.
