I use a "rather cheap" machinist chest that can be bought for $80 from Harbor Frieght. I really like it. 6 small drawers and 2 large drawers, plus the top storage area. Nice green felt on the inside, all wood on the outside. However, I do not own a gun safe, and that would be nicer.
A "real" machinist style chest made as a gun box, can be bought as well, but it runs upward of a grand. Much better wood and construction.

I thought that was a pretty cool chest, not cheap at all.

I just use a Chamois that has been oiled up. I roll/fold/roll the entire barrel assembly up inside the leather so there is a good 3/8 of an inch padding around the BA and put it in a carry bag. This way all my BAs are in one carry bag in case I need to evacuate quickly (evacuate because of fire - I don't have to bug out in case of trouble, I am one of those people who have to have to bug-in ).
