So yesterday I got a chance to shoot the new Dan Wesson 22. I had the short barrel on it, and I loved it. Trigger is a little stiff, and was too stiff for my kids to enjoy, but it is smooth. The weight makes it super easy to stay on target. It has now lost it’s never been shot status, with 60 rds through it. I bought another 2000 rds of 22lr today, and 200 rds of 22mag for when I get the conversion done.

most of the shooting was actually my 2 boys, my 11 year old shot my 43 smith and Wesson for the first time, putting around 90 rds through it. My 14 year old shot the smith better too, and put maybe 60 rds through it and 12 the the Dan. They both shot 12 rds through the PPQ22 finding it the easiest trigger, but my youngest favorite was the smith. The PPQ has more recoil. And I think he liked cocking the hammer and shooting single action. My favorite was the Dan Wesson, and I can’t wait to try the 22 mag in it.

How does one go from a 22lr to a "22mag for when I get the conversion done" on a DW 22?

I know that other vendors swap out cylinder but I was thinking of my next search is for a DW22 as well.  I have my grandson shooting a 22wmr bolt action rifle which he loves to shoot.  So many strong interests on the DW22wmr if it can be done easily and not have to look over the internet for a possible new cylinder for DW revolvers (if they make it).

You have to send the gun to Bob at DW for him to fit a 22 WMR cylinder. Bob@cz-usa.com

This is what Bob sent me when i asked about it.

I have 22 mag. In carbon or stainless , fluted and unfluted. I would recommend unfluted if your long rife is a fluted cylinder. It easier to keep separated.  Price is $96.00 for the cylinder, $100.00 to fit and finish to frame, You will need a 22 magnum extractor assembly for $49.00, and a hand fit to 22 mag.at $25.00 , return shipping is $50.00. Total is $320.00 . There may be additional charges to bring the gun back to factory specs. If you are interested in sending your gun in for work click on the link below and fill it out. You will be emailed a conformation letter with an incident number for your case. Please  write this number on the outside of your package before shipping. Include a note stating what the problem is or what you want done. Include all your contact information. We will contact you for payment after we have evaluated your gun and prepared an estimate. Also include whether your gun is stainless or blue. Expect 6-8 weeks turnaround with possible delays for shipping or bluing. Thank you.
