Ebang

Check out Ebang frequently...I also suggest that you folks start a favorite list for Guns America...I get all the new listings everyday of the manufacturers I'm interested in.

Guys-

Please make sure you PM these links out to cheetah. I can tell you that the guys in the sandbox often don't have time or access to surf the net extensively, but the have much more access to e-mail, so he will get an e-mail notification that he has a DWF PM. If your PM has the link in it, he can get to it quickly.

BTW, that 6"VH looks perfect.

It would be great to help this man get a great Christmas present for his Dad.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I sent him the one on GB and he is interested, he was concerned about payment but I showed him how to take care of it. Hope it works out for him. I offered to call some FFLs for him if he can't hook up with one via email.

Thanks for staying close on this one. We're going to find a way to help this Marine and his Dad. Any help needed, just PM.

Thank you all very much, as of now I'm hoping to win the one off Auction Arms due to its slightly better condition, and I got antsy and bought a new 6VH before I had found a pistol - shortly after bidding on the barrel I realized I had screwed up, but hey, how do you learn without making mistakes?

You've all been more helpful than I could've ever hoped for, glenncal1 especially.  I'm absolutely blown away by this forum.  I seriously can't thank you all enough.

Cheetah,

If you have the 6" barrel and add the 8" barreled gun, now your started on a pack!  Just a thought.poke

Y'know...I originally only wanted the 6VH to match what my dad used to have.  I later realized that adding a 4" barrel could convert it into a nice pack pistol for venturing into the woods.  With a 6 and 8" already here, I'm still seeing the 4" being useful in Montana, so I have a strange feeling there's one to come.  I'm not too sure on the 2"...I've already got a Ruger SP101 .357 that's got a 2 1/4" barrel that I carry, and its use is quite limited.

At the new price of barrel assemblies from DW, that was not a srew-up.  It was good investing!Laugh

I agree I think you were wise to pickup the 6" now.  Hopefully you'll be able to pickup the 715 on AA!

And as these guys said, your timing was perfect on the barrel buy. Prices are sure to go up soon, I would think.

Endless thanks to all of you for the help!  I won the 715 off auction arms with the 8VH barrel.  I'm excited for it and I'm months from seeing it still!

How much does CZ/DW charge for a barrel, on average?  I'm thinking about the 4VH I mentioned before, but price is the biggest deciding factor at this point.

Also, what are the grips that were mentioned earlier in this thread?  I can't seem to find much of anything for aftermarket (or stock, tried to find those too..) grips for a 715.

Thank you all again, I can't tell you how appreciated it is!

Looks like you landed a nice one, way to go!occasion

Look at the '09 price list here...

https://www.danwessonforum.com/?page_id=3/parts-and-service/2009-dan-wesson-parts-price-list

Barrel assemblies are listed in there. The only bummer is that just a couple weeks ago, they bumped up their prices on barrels...but at least they're still available.Smile

The Zebra grips were mentioned earlier in this thread & are priced on that list also. Here's an example of a zebra grip on Dusty's great lookin' "Nick".Cool

Thanks, Charger Fan!  One question you may be able to answer - on the price list, right next to "complete barrel assemblies for small frame" it says "add xtra $45.00 ags finish"  What's ags finish?

It is Alaskan Guide Special.  The specila finish given to the Guide Gun.  It is a black smooth finish.

For grips; check out Ebay, it's about all they carry for guns anymore, besides holsters.  Their prices are usually better than the actual gun sites.

Cheetah-I was hoping it was you that got that 8" on AA. Did you gaet a FFL squared away. Seems like you got a pretty good price on that gun. Now get your a$$ back here safely and have some fun with your dad and the DW.
